Indicating Right: Environmental Performance Indicators for the Waste Management Sector
Green Alliance (Nov 2001)

This report is the result of a three-year project to produce environmental performance indicators for the waste management sector. Developed in conjunction with waste companies and leading waste organisations, these indicators have been endorsed by eleven waste companies, as well as by the Environmental Services Association, Friends of the Earth, the Institute of Wastes Management and Waste Watch.

This report develops a conceptual framework for considering the integration of sustainable development in enterprise policy and presents a focused set of integration indicators with illustrative examples showing how these indicators could be reported and implemented.
